Our Story

Four decades of work. One Colorado valley.

Boulder Landscape & Design was built on a simple belief: the land around your home should be as livable and as loved as the land inside it.

Jamie Raines-Overley founded Boulder Landscape & Design in 1981. What began as a small residential landscaping operation in the Boulder Valley has grown — project by project, referral by referral — into one of Boulder County's most trusted outdoor living firms.

Together with co-owner Ryan Overley, the company now serves nine communities across the Front Range: Boulder, Erie, Broomfield, Lafayette, Louisville, Longmont, Niwot, Superior, and Lyons. The approach hasn't changed since the first project: read the site before drawing a line, choose materials that belong in Colorado, and build it so it lasts.

"We've been doing this for 45 years because we genuinely love what happens when a family gets their outdoor space right."

The results are measured in return visits from clients whose parents hired us, in award plaques from the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado, and in backyards that Boulder County homeowners use every day of the Colorado year.

Core Values How We Work

The four things that have never changed.

01

Always Be Positive

Every client conversation, every job site, every difficult weather week — we show up ready to find a solution and leave the space better than we found it.

02

Show Appreciation

For the land, for the homeowner's trust, and for every person on the crew. Respect is how we earn the right to return.

03

Be Accountable

If something isn't right, we fix it. No excuses, no delay. 45 years of repeat clients is built on exactly that promise.

04

Create Unforgettable Experiences

Not just the finished space — the feeling a homeowner gets when they walk out the back door for the first time and see exactly what they imagined, brought to life in stone and soil and sky.
